Wednesday night beginners chaingang: slightly more structure

Post by Arthur »

We had an excellent time last week, but I'd like to suggest a little more structure this week so that we can keep the purpose of this ride as being a good place to start the chaingang/fast riding thing.

I'll be at the Bridge to leave at 6pm. Then Bishopthorpe Library at ~6.05/6.10 and onto the circuit. This week I suggest we keep it nice and steady on the way out, and then keep the first two laps at a brisk but not that fast pace (say 20-21mph) so that weaker riders and people new to things can come along and get the hang of things. Then we pick up the pace a bit each lap.

I'll be doing 5 laps this week (we did four last).

Sound ok for people?

That sounds good, I'll meet you on the circuit around 6.30 (as long as the legs are ok after the race tonight!)

I agree with the night needing a bit more structure and everything you suggest sounds good, see you at the bridge tomorrow.

Sounds good to me, Arthur. I shall try to get there, but after riding the Scotton 100, riding TLI and riding to Spurn point this weekend my good lady might quite correctly be a bit miffed, so we shall see.

Excellent. Just to be clear, I'm hoping that the last couple of laps will be a bit faster than last week, but that we build up steadily.

No show from me tonight either.

Have a good one - wish I'd swapped my riding nights this week, I'm still drying out from 1.5 hrs in last night's deluge...

Jason.
