Next weekend is the start of the 2014 NYMBO Trailquest League.
For those new to Trailquests they are Orienteering by MTB. There are 2 formats; MBO Score where you're given a map at the sart and a time limit to visit as many controls as possible in any order, and MTBO where you have a set course and you are timed around the course - so a time trial. They're a great way to brush up on your map reading skills too - giving you lots of confidence to lead some social rides too maybe
Next weekend there is 1 of each. Saturday is Rd 1 of the MBO Score League at Wass/White Horse where there's a new Bike Centre. Sun is an MTBO at Wheldrake. Both formats are a great excuse to get out on the MTB and probably ride some trails you didn't know were there. You can take it as seriously, or not, as you want - it's up to you.
Full details and entry info at http://www.nymbo.org.uk. If you have any queries or want to know more drop me a line.
