This Sunday is the Dalby red route MTB time trial!
There will be tea and coffee available (I'm bringing the camper van!)
Also there will be a mega bike part jumble sale for you to have a look around! Lots of 2nd hand bike bits and some 2nd hand bikes too! e,g, a bike bag, hubs, tyres, gear levers, hydration products, lights, disk brakes, pumps, crankset, seatposts, etc etc. so come along and grab yourself a bargain!
-----------------------
Just turn up and ride. Anyone can do the time trial, (U18's need to be with a parent or guardian, who need to sign a form). It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are! You just need to be OK with riding the red route.
Although anyone can enter the time trial, the trophys will be given to Clifton members only at the awards dinner in January. It is possible to join CliftonCC on the day for people who are not members and wish to join.
The winners will be announced when the last rider is back, which should be around 2pm - 2:30pm. The winner of the Ultimate All Rounder Competition (joint time trial and hill climb) will also be announced if I can work it out quickly enough! I will post the results on the discussion board too. The categories (assuming enough entries for each) are:
Men / women
Junior men / women (U18)
Vet men / women (over 40)
The time trial costs £2, to cover insurance, plus the usual Dalby toll road fee.
Meet at Adderstone field, to start riding between 10am and 12pm. We will leave 3 min gaps between riders so the trail doesn't get too busy.
For those who don't know where Adderstone field is, follow the Dalby drive road past the visitor centre, down to the lake, up the other side and Adderstone field is on the left up the hill, opposite Dixons Hollow jump park.
The time trial will start from the event HQ in Adderstone field and you simply do a lap of the red route and the timer is stopped when you cross the line at HQ again. If you have a GPS please bring it so I can check that you didn't do any shortcuts or anything! I have a couple of spare garmins if you cannot get hold of one.
Hope to see you there!
