York Mountaineering Club have organised a Mountain First Aid Course on the weekend of 26th/27th September and there is a place left.

"The qualification you need for an ML or SPA ticket or similar is minimum 2-day Rescue Emergency Care first aid. Normal retail price for a weekend course is £120-plus. On top of that, I have normally had to travel eg to Hathersage or Plas-y-Brenin to attend my courses, which of course involves fuel and an overnight stay.
Last year, we ran a course for YMC in York. We filled the maximum 12 places and paid for an instructor to come to York. With the cost of the Instructor, the meeting room fee, and a buffet lunch each day, the cost per head was only about £75 for the 2 days, and of course a 3-year Certificate. There is no examination, by the way......if you attend the course for 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) you automatically get a Certificate."

This course is taking place in York.
The cost of the course is £100 - however assuming all the places are filled then there might be a refund of £25. For more details please contact Jennifer Duncan, Club Secretary on jen_dunc@hotmail.com
