I know there's a few of you planning to have a go at the NYMBO League this year and the first event isn't long away (Saturday 21st).

A few tips;

- You need to be a member to enter. You can join as an Associate FOC on the line but it's a real pain for the organiser. Save them, and yourself, time and join in advance at http://www.trailquest.co.uk/members/. Associate membership is FOC, full membership is £15 or FOC for Juniors. Associate members pay a small levy per event so you can do the maths whether you take full membership or not. You'll be given an electronic Membership Card which you can download and take to the events.

- Take a look at the Tips page http://www.cliftoncc.org/static.php?con ... uest_hints I've done on the website if you're new to it. It'll give you a good idea what to expect

- Enter early. You can enter on the day but it's a lot more hassle than just filling the form in and posting it. You're also guaranteed a pre-marked map then see http://www.nymbo.org.uk/woldsflier2009.rtf for entry forms.

- Lastly the events always seem to start around midday. A small thing I've found is it makes lunch a nuisance. You don't want a big lunch just before you set off and you finish near tea time and it feels too late for lunch. I always try to have a late, large breakfast so I don't run out of fuel half way round. Next week's is a 4 hour event on the Wolds so it will be quite tough.

See you there hopefully.
