Get your 2011 off to a flying start

Brand New for 2011 CAPTAIN COOK challenge promises to be a classic. It’s an early season opportunity to test your current fitness and kick start your 2011 season. Whatever your motive, the routes provide a great workout - however you decide to ride them! Spectacular views across the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and Cleveland hills making it unmissable. The longer route (80 miles) has everything, flat sections, climbs, fast descents making it a challenge worth doing! This route includes Rosedale Chimney (with alternative option), one of Britain's steepest roads at 1 in 3, or 33%

The routes will be fully signed and utilise a lot of quiet lanes and unclassified roads.

The longer route (80 miles) has approximately 2000 metres of climbing, we recommend a bottom gear of 39*27 or 30*23, fitter riders may find that they can manage with 39*23 the choice is yours.

The shorter route (50 miles) has less climbing 1000 metres, although it will still be a challenge to any rider.
