Cannondale team saeco CAAD5
Lovely bike being sold by Emlyn the manager at the Hub Station in York:
He bought the bike new in 2004 from Bonthrone Bikes in London. It is one of the last Cannondale frames made in the USA before they outsourced the production to China.
He has upgraded most of the components, including the wheels, the drivetrain, the gears, the brakes, the handlebars and the seatpost (total cost in the region of £2k, upgraded components are marked with a ‘*’ below)!
Emlyn only used the bike occasionally in dry weather until 2006 and covered 551 miles. The drivetrain was upgraded 50 miles ago so is essentially new.
The bike is in stunning condition and he hasn't used it recently as he damaged his back in an accident (NOT ON THIS BIKE!!!!) which has meant that the riding position was too aggressive for him. He has reluctantly come to the conclusion that he can never enjoy riding this beauty again, so now it’s someone else’s turn to enjoy her.
You can see the bike in all its glory at the Bike Hub in York. If you would like to give the bike a test-ride you must take two forms of ID – A driving licence or a passport and a bill from a utility company confirming your address!
