My son, Rob, moved out to the French Pyrenees 2 years ago and he is living in a small village called Ore, which is about 25 Kms from Luchon and close to St. Beat. He has a small farmhouse in the village and has converted a barn into 2 Gites, the largest sleeping 8 and the smaller 4.
Ore is in ideal Tour de France cycling country with famous climbs like the Col de Mente, Peyresourde, Portillon and Port de Bales all on his doorstep.
His prices are very reasonable, probably the lowest you will find in the Pyrenees, and you will get a very warm welcome and with as much help as you need for your touring. He has a great website rob@pyreneesholidaygites.com where you can find out all about the area
and of course all you need to know to book accommodation.
