Dear Clifton Cycling Club

Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire hold an annual bike ride and this year our hugely successful cycling event has become a fantastic circular and the event will offer two routes that will cater for a wider range of cycling abilities. The “Elite” is a 64 mile route and the “Enthusiast” is a 35 mile route.

The Big Bike Ride is on 17th May at Wetherby RUFC, Grange Park Sports Club. Entry costs £20.00.

To take part visit our website http://www.btrs.org.uk and follow the link from the home page to register.
Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire (BTRS) focuses on raising funds as funding for research into brain tumours is very much under supported, so your donation will help our efforts locally. In addition, there is often little support for patients and their families.

2011 saw the charity open Yorkshire’s first brain tumour research lab, based at the Leeds Institute for Molecular Medicine, supporting a high-level research team who work on long-term paediatric and adult brain tumour research projects. The project is co-funded with children's cancer charity Candlelighters.

Since the charity registered in 2003 we have raised almost £1.8m to support patients and research across the county and receive no national funding.

Nationally, less than 1% of all the funds raised for research into cancer is devoted to brain tumour research, yet brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of our children and more people under the age of 40 die from brain tumours than from any other cancer.

Thank you for your time and please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Ormiston if you have any questions 0113 2473765
