Dave Lloyd challenges you once again to join him for 6 days of fantastic training in the stunning Lake District and at the same time tackle some of its most infamous mountain passes .We will be offering rides from 30 miles to 100 miles per day that will challenge your fitness levels and MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY PREPARE YOU for your next sportive, giving you the chance to ride some of the north wests most difficult terrain. Enjoy also the wonderful Lancashire moors and try to ride the trough of Bowland and Blackhill plus Malham in the Yorkshire Dales.

This will put the finishing touches to your winter training for your chosen sportives in 2009 and in particular `THE` sportive, the www.davelloydmegachallenge.com will only be 8 weeks away after this awesome experience. You will each receive an 8 week training programme custom made to help you prepare for your main sportive challenge of 2009 at the end of the camp. It will also give you chance to talk to expert sportive riders/coaches with vast experience who can help you properly assess your current fitness levels and manage your expectations accordingly.
In late Sept 20th 2009 you will also have the chance to ride another classic sportive new to the calendar which traverses the stunning scenery in the southern Lake District the www.davelloydcumbriankiller.com

We thank all of you who rode the MEGA last year and who enjoyed the experience despite the appalling weather. Well the same team that gave you the MEGA and 3CC offer you the chance to do some serious miles with great company and then after your evening meal you will have the chance to listen to some great speakers on every aspect of sportive preparation and this a question and answer session with Dave who regularly rides sportives even in his 60th year and MAYBE half wheel him up some major climb, adding to your list of tall stories next time you are with your cycling buddies. If you rode any of our previous events you know how well organized they were and the excitement they generated , so book now and take advantage of one of the limited number available. Our routes will be all signposted or guided and daily route sheets made available plus main café stops highlighted and we have light from 06:00 to 20:00 plus massage for riders post rides.

Dave Lloyd will be on hand throughout to answer your queries and after dinner each evening we will have a speaker for you covering many subjects relating to sportive preparation; e.g. Vo2 max and metabolic testing, nutrition for sportives, power and power devices and software, clothing for sportives ,Gps systems etc etc

Accommodation will be at the magnificent Arnside Youth Hostel which is a superior grade hostel and where we will enjoy dinner bed and breakfast and the evening talks. A full package if offered including a 3 course dinner and full breakfast , hot showers, comfy lounges available all day and bike storage.

Limited Caravan and cottage hire is also possible with self catering if you prefer it for groups of 5-6 for £300 per rider but not including meals.

One of our main concerns is keeping the costs under serious control and offering you the riders a superb package that with the credit crunch and poor exchange rates makes overseas camps so expensive this year and this camp offers a great alternative!

So riders get a fully organized preparation camp for £350 all in for a week which we believe is great value for money and probably half what you would pay for an overseas training camp and just maybe, you will miss that annual virus picked up after a hard weeks training from the aircrafts ducted air systems!

This camp will suit all abilities and the plan would be to offer riders different experiences with similar riders of same fitness levels from outright beginners to elite riders who want to attempt say the MEGA and finish inside 10hrs to riders who just want to finish the MINI in style and comfort .

We suggest that riders should be doing regular weekend back to back rides of 3-6 hours for elite riders (non stop) and to 2-3 hrs for beginners (non stop).

DEPOSIT: £50.00 To reserve a place - the balance will be due by the end of February.

Already we have over half a dozen cyclists who have reserved places for this exciting opportunity to get fit in good company and learn from an expert team of qualified coaches with a wealth of experience of all types of cycling.

The training camp is taking place between 13th-18th April 2009.
