After a less than clement day on Saturday there were 9 of us in the Square on Sunday for a big circuit around the Wolds. Lots of quiet lanes and big skies. Just a couple of rises needing the inner chainring. All stayed together and back in York before 4pm with 145k on the clock (about 90 miles).

Cafe Velo, Beverley. Dave's had enough of the rolling Armstrong footage on the big screen.

The irregulars are unavailable for leadership duties this coming Sunday. First to post gets to plan the route....

Could be Dave's has enough of me.

Realize we got the big turn out due to the weather being so foul on Saturday.
However the Sunday irregulars were please you decided to join us it made for a very enjoyable ride. We experienced a few wet roads but seemed to dodge all the showers of rain which is a navigational gift you don't often see.

Also have not ridden back into York at that speed for quiet some time. Thanks for the tow Rich was it bath night or something ?

We are about most Sundays

No takers for the K ride Sat am - wonder why? Joined the Inters, where our intended ride to Riveaulx was adjusted en route to Helmsley - we all agreed that maybe you can have too much of a good thing and the lure of a warm and hot drink beckoned......

However, despite the rain & sleet you can still enjoy the ride....working together into the headwind, looking out for each other, pedalling hard enough to generate some cosy heat, very quiet roads and the sun peeping out to show off some fab autumnal views.

Rarely do we experience the warmth and short sleeve riding of last weekend and then plummet straight into full winter gear, overshoes, winter gloves and hats in the space of a week! Thanks to JohnB for shepherding us round and Max, Graham, Ian(s), JonG, PeteS for good company.

We were rewarded with sunny blue skies and a very friendly tailwind for the ride home.
A satisfying 70 miles to get back to the open fire.
