I had a phone call this week from a farmer out near Stillington, who had had a brush with a group of cyclists on Saturday which included a couple wearing Clifton kit. He was proceeding along a narrow single-track lane with a tractor and wide trailer, when he came upon the group of cyclists riding towards him. The cyclists rode straight past a marked passing place and onwards towards the farmer, who then had to stop while the cyclists did the full "oh my, how are we going to get past?" routine, since his trailer clearly occupied the full road width. He thought this was daft, and hence phoned to complain. To put this in context he said "we get a lot of cyclists round here - a lot - and they're generally really sensible, which is fine. But this lot weren't, and it reflects on Clifton".

There you go, complaint passed on. Use common sense. End of chat.
