Final post before the big ride on Saturday 5th July. I head of to Bulgaria for a bit of R&R in prep this weekend. A massive thanks to all those that have supported me with words of good luck and sponsorship. 15 weeks ago I was given a target of £19,000 to raise for Marie Curie Cancer Care to fund a nurse for York. These nurses are angels and unfortunately all of us, or our loved ones, will need one at the end of our lives. My JustGiving page registers a total of over £17,500 and with pledges to come in that should rise to £18,300. I am nearly there.

I have one more fundraising event on the eve of my ride in the Marie Curie Power Peloton over Stage 1 of the Tour de France only hours ahead of the pro riders. On Friday 4th July I have an event at Ye Old Sun Inn Colton from 7pm until 11pm. Team orders mean I can only be there from 7pm to 8pm then it is to bed for a 4am call.

I am hoping to hit the £19,000 at this event. If anyone can make it that would be great. You may think it is pricey at £20 a ticket, but that includes a full night of entertainment from the London band 'Me for Queen' who have just released a Cycle inspired concept album, Hog Roast, and £50 funny money to play the Casino. It will be a great night.

If you can't make the night try and catch me on the road. We finish in Harrogate at 1pm. Three hours ahead of the pro's (fingers crossed). Work back from that. The benefit of catching me early en-route is that you will have a good spot to see the proper cyclists when they come thundering by.

Thanks again everyone. Here's to a great Tour weekend.
