The following is an urgent and short notice request for help.

The City of York Road Safety Team are looking for a skilled, experienced club rider who will be able to help risk assess the Le Tour routes.

The CoY Road Safety Team as part of a wider Yorkshire and Humber Region Road Safety Groups are looking to provide an “on line” app with video footage of key elements of the Le Tour routes, with guidance on best practice in cycling these particular elements. The idea is that these will all be in context on the route, and are being done to help those riders who might want to do the tour routes in a group of friends, or as individuals – but are not necessarily club riders.

For example on the list so far is:-

Cornering
Braking
Climbing
Narrow road with dry stone walls and little margin for error.
Coming into 30 limits
Managing differing speeds of traffic

The assessment will commence from York, so the individual will need to be able to meet in York for the start. A Police minibus, (and driver) with a bike carrier on the back that will take 3 bikes is provided to transport the rider and their bike around the route.

The initial dates that we need the person for this week are:-

Wednesday 7th Aug from 11.30am for the rest of the day (until approx 5 or 6pm)
Thursday 8th Aug from 8am all day
Wednesday 14th Aug from 8am all day.
