An hour before the start it was torrential rain, thunder and lightning but over 20 riders signed on so were clearly not put off by the conditions. Fortunately for the race itself it was calm and sunny although half of the course was still quite damp.
Thanks to the marshalls - Mac and Phil; and timekeepers - Bernard and Andy without whom the event wouldn't have happened.
Apologies to those of you who went off course. It appears that someone played a practical joke on us by moving one of the signs.
There are vacancies for marshalls and timekeepers next week. Please let me know if you can help. I can give a lift back to York but not outward (unless you are coming from Malton).
