Nobody else in the pub last night could remember....
I have this recollection that John Noakes rode the prologue to the Milk Race some time in the 70s as part of his "Go with Noakes" programme. Can anybody else remember it?
JN went out training with a team for a few weeks
He was taught how to maintain his bike
The prologue was on a seafront somewhere and he was so shattered at the end he couldn't undo his toe-straps and had to be caught
Shep did not ride in a basket on the front
That's about all I can remember
