Well now my legs have recovered and I have regained body mass since doing the LEL last year, I will hopefully be able to join you again this Sunday!

Great write up, Rob, and thanks for setting the ride up. I made it 3,380 m of climbing, but then again, I am a bit taller!

Hi Rob: Steen and I rode that B road out to Innerleithen and it was a bit bad in places, particularly near the start which was probably the B7007 stretch, although the B709 south of Innerleithen was very good. One option may be to head out on the A7 and, if it is busy, turn left on the B709 to ...

@Broomwagon: I am getting on one of the Transpennine Express trains at Northallerton then get the train to Edinburgh from Newcastle. I have a seat reserved in Coach B.
I was thinking I would try and get something to eat once I get to Edinburgh to help me over the hills.

Sounds good, interested to know how you plan to get to Brough from Barnard Castle. I assume it will not be along the A66 in which case there could be an interesting little climb
