Re: Tuesday Chaingang

Thanks Paul for kicking this off. I was the only one at the roundabout and was relieved to find John just after the Hessay turn. For anyone racing or wanting to work on their top end speed, this is the ride to do.

I'm there about 1 in every 3 or 4 weeks and love this ride. Good workout, normally ...

Re: NYERRL Race 1 - 30 April 2015 Bishopwood

Sorry all, it was me that pulled out at last minute. One of my wife's best friends was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the weekend and she is going to see her tomorrow night and I am looking after the kids. Thanks Marty for stepping in.

Re: racing roundup 12th April

Scotton 100 for me as well. As John has mentioned, tough day out with wind & rain. I managed to stay with the fast group until almost the top of Brimham Rocks off road section but lost them as the ride accelerated on the flatter bit at the end of that section. Real shame as it is downhill from there ...

Re: Training ride on Saturday 21 March

That definitely counts as one of the most brutally hard training rides I've done but it is exactly what you need for racing. Thanks to Damian for coming back and rescuing me after I blew up on Saxton, although somehow I managed to get going again after that after a bit of a drink and a few Shot ...

Re: Entry denied - early season races

You boys need to join the cyclo-cross fraternity. Rock hard racing, no problems with getting an entry and a really good atmosphere!

Rich Sharp doing amazingly well, came second in last week's Cliff Pratt race over in Hull.

Re: Training ride on Saturday 17 January

I would like to get out provided its safe. I will look out my window in the morning and if there is snow lying on main gritted road, then I will head for the turbo. Otherwise I plan to be in the Square for 9.

Discussion about 8:45am ride

After some of the recent posts, I would like to kick off what I hope to be a constructive discussion about the 8:45am ride.

Steve Arris and I volunteered to try and get this ride off the ground because we thought there was some demand for it based on a very long forum post before Easter with lots ...

I was out with the brisk 3 Bridges group on Saturday with some very tidy riding all round. I managed to take on the navigator role because I had stuck the route on my Garmin - bright sunlight and screen size made it a bit hard to follow meaning I sent everyone down the slip road to the A63 at one ...

Change of plan for me and I will be doing the Three Bridges route and hope to join the brisk group as need to back a bit earlier. Greg - hope this is OK?

John and Nigel, I will ride out with you and see you in the square at 8:15am.

I agree Dr Dave.

This ride started off a couple of months ago as a relatively social 16-18mph and is now a 19mph brisk ride. I'm trying to hold back the increase in pace to stop this just turning into a slightly slower training ride but it is also dictated a bit by the riders that attend regularly ...
