No not an 80s revival night, but a Clifton Hostel weekend to look forward to in the Spring.

Before we don overshoes and dust of the turbo trainers for the long winter slog I thought it would be worth getting something in the diary to look forward to.

So we're off to W Yorks for some new roads ...

Let's not re-open the discussion on this ride. It's a fast paced social ride that isn't suitable for everyone but has a big following.

The issue may be partly my fault as, after the discussion earlier in the year, I'd agreed a new description for the 'Our Rides' description page. Mike flagged ...

We've had 2 late cancellations for this trip so now have 1 male and 1 female space available.

Short notice I know as it's this weekend but drop me a line if interested.

We get a fair amount of email into the Club post bag these days, not all of it complementary of cyclists or supportive of our Sport. So I thought I'd redress the balance a bit by sharing one we received yesterday (Sat). We'll done to those involved.

Title - Faith rekindled ...

I notice nobody has put their hand up to lead a steady ride this month so there's likely to be just mine.

It'll be tougher than the June ride but still sociable and there's a couple of bale out points if needed. Plus lots of sunshine hopefully

This month we're off to the Dales for a good mixture of sunshine, moorland single track, roman roads and tough hills.

Approximately 40miles, Cafe lunch and back at the cars by 3pm.

Meet in Grassington 9.45 for 10.00am start in the Car Park behind the Dales National Park Visitor Centre, Hebden Road ...

Since it was introduced the 8.45 on Sat morning has suffered a bit through lack of formal leader. Consequently it's been a bit on/off and people have been confused over what sort of ride it actually is.

Prompted partly by the earlier debate on here and subsequent discussions going on elsewhere, we thought we'd open up the topic to wider debate.

This isn't an extension of the earlier thread, this is to ask members' opinions on the format of the 8.45 ride on Saturday morning.

The purpose of my comments wasn't to spoil the fun of the more regular riders. It was merely to point out that we should try to keep rides to what we describe/advertise.

As one of the people who mans the incoming enquiries for new members, the most popular question I get is 'what ride should I go ...

It's good to see more volunteers for ride leading so well done.

However, as Paul says, this ride was set up to cater for those that wanted a brisk ride out and be home for lunch. We also deliberately started the ride at 8.45 so it didn't get mixed up/confused with the training rides that ...

We've had 2 new members enquire if anyone is riding the above this weekend from Bakewell, as they have no transport to get there.

If anyone is planning to ride and has space perhaps you could post here and I'll put you in touch somehow.
