I am slowly building up a P7 into a single speed bike. I have got stuck deciding what rear wheel I should use.

I have to buy a wheel as I don’t have a spare. Is it better to get a specific single speed hub or just use a normal wheel with spacers?

I have a full suspension frame which I am slowly building. I currently have some Avid Juicy 5s on another bike which drive me mad in particular when I try and change pads (as those on the Howgills trip may have noticed). So I was going to get some HOPE brakes, until I saw how much they cost ...
