Re: North of England CX Champs Sun 8th December at Yorksport

What a great event. I just managed to meet my race goal of not coming last with a most glorious 2nd to last place! I almost reached the dizzy heights of third to last place but I dropped my chain on the second lap which lost me a great deal of time. I then engaged my nemesis for the day in a epic ...

Get Britain Cycling

You are probably all aware but The Times newspaper has a petition to get the government to support reconmendations to Get Britain Cycling.

If at least 100,000 sign this petition the goverment more or less has to have a debate in parliament.

So if you think more should be done to get people ...

Single Speed Wheel

Hello,

I have to buy a wheel as I don’t have a spare. Is it better to get a specific single speed hub or just use a normal wheel with spacers?

I am currently thinking of getting a hope ...

Yes its supposed to be a cycle city.

I have already emailed him but politicians only do anything if enough people ask as they only really care about getting voted in again. Not that I am cynical!

Cycle Margin Work sites

There is funding available for repairs towards the edges of roads - i.e. the bit that cyclists most often use. If you know of any places needing attention, please let Andy (andy.vose@york.gov,uk) know ASAP. From previous years' experience, I know that quite a high proportion of suggestions you make ...

I felt for you hard cases on the sunday ride. I had a little pootle around Dalby after (very excitedly) waving you all through, and the weather sucked! However the worse the weather the better the tea and cakes.

Brake Choice Hope or Not

Hello,

I have a full suspension frame which I am slowly building. I currently have some Avid Juicy 5s on another bike which drive me mad in particular when I try and change pads (as those on the Howgills trip may have noticed). So I was going to get some HOPE brakes, until I saw how much they cost ...

Is anybody missing a pair of shorts?
