Hi Al, I flew a roadie 3-4 years ago ex USA (Newark) to the UK with either Virgin or Continental, as I recall. It was fairly loosely packed, with wheels in place, no other preparation. The one problem I had was that the tyres had to be deflated (which was done at the airport). There was no excess ...

How will cyclists get their bikes through gates? Especially where the museum end of the bridge is concerned.

Are they proposing to station a staff member at all of the barrier sets, to assist, like London Transport do on the tubes?

This one letter says it all from a cycling point of view:

Maybe the club should lodge and official objection? Could someone get British Cyclcing to object too ...

As I understand it, one of the marketing features of Grand Central Trains, is that you can purchase any ticket on board without penalty.

Given the service is superior than National Express (the crew is friendy and interested); there is more room at the seats...., and given that National Express is ...

Road conditions - Easingwold area

FYI Just in case, the following road surfaces are thick with uncleaned farmers' crud (mud and stones):

1: E/W to Yearsley X at Hanover House/Banks Farm (SE 541718 to SE 548718). The downhill stretch is positively dangerous, in my vew, going NE with a L/H bend..
2: Husthwaite to E/W at Acaster Hill ...
