Re: Weekend Round-up 4th/5th July

I cycled out to Easingwold do the 100km Mother Shipton Audax. A very enjoyable ride with two cafe stops in Knaresborough and Ripon. I particularly enjoyed the hilly section from Ripley to Ripon via Kirkby Malzeard.

The wind started to blow in my face for the final section of the ride from ...

Re: Weekend roundup 6th and 7th September

I did the 100K Vineyards and Windmills Audax, which started at Walton near Wakefield.

A very hilly ride with some fantastic scenery around the lanes near Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Penistone.

I managed to ride most of the route with a group from Calder Clarion Cycling Club, which made the ...

Weekend Round-Up 26th / 27th

At the end of the Thixendale Spirograph ride yesterday I sprinted for the green light at Monk Bar, instead of preparing to stop. I disappeared into the sunset, so can I therefore thank everyone for a very enjoyable day out and, in particular, Bernard, for his organisation and navigational skills ...

I have also missed the link to sign up to help at the time trials.

I am able to marshal on Thursday if you are still short of bodies.

Fountains Audax Today.

I had planned to do the audax today, so off I went.

The roads were excellent until we reached Studley Royal. From there to Ripley there was snow on the road in places, but not in any quantities to cause any problems.

The ride back from Ripley into the wind was certainly character building.

Weekend Roundup - 1st/2nd Sept.

I managed to get out this weekend on Rob's tour of the wolds.

6 of us left the square and headed out to climb up onto the wolds in the Acklam/ Leavening area. 5 of the group then danced on the pedals up Settrington Bank before having to wait for me to get myself up there. We then cycled down to ...
