Stolen bikes

Got up this morning to find both my road bikes had been pinched so if you see either a black and white Look 586 with SRAM Force group set and Dura Ace wheels or a Van Nicholas Yukon with SRAM Force for sale they may be mine and I'd appreciate a pm. Thanks Shaun

As indicated earlier I was another Ryedale Rumble rider. A great ride and one that it felt better for doing it for the second time. Going into the ride I thought I would struggle but once going things settled down and I was able to find a good rhythm.
I still hate hills and find them hard but the ...

PG220 again

A day of chasing for me. Having got my timings wrong arrived late in Tockwith with the other riders already left so after signing on set off at a spirited pace to see if I could catch up with some of the main pack. Luckily for me the pack was moving at a good steady pace and I was able to hook up ...

Got back okay and no further breakages - just fed up not able to continue what up to my mechanicals had been a good ride. Stoped in Hovingham for water and ice cream before finishing an uneventful ride back to York. Glad the ride seams to have been successful though not without its moments.

Weekend roundup 1st 2nd May

Wiggy 300 for me. Getting up at 4 to make the 5am start was hard work this year round. Saw Tim J briefly before the start. Having done the ride last year remembered that it was easy to get held up at Malton in the café if a large group arrives at once so made an effort to stick with the VC167 guys ...

Weeken round-up, 17th-18th

Four of us set off from the square on the H ride, Howard, Andy, Ian and myself.
A wonderful day for riding unfortunately I wasn't feeling quite the same after the first couple of climbs it was clear there was even less in the legs than usual but still enjoyed the run to Filey. With the wind behind ...

Weekend roundup 27-28th Feb

Turned up at the square at 9am to see a good group of riders waiting for the training and H group rides. After the weather on Friday I was a bit unsure if the h group planned route to Osmotherly would be feasible - after discussing with Howard agreed to give it a go so four set off from the square ...

Wednesday night training rides

Weather permitting is anyone interested in a ride this Wednesday. I would suggest doing the flat route out via Bishopthorp back via Coulton with the route skipping Acaster Malbis because of the flooding.
Meet 6.30pm outside Cycle Heaven - speed to suit whoever turns up and ride as a group

Weekend roundup 16th / 17th Jan

Well after all the sitting around with the snow this weekend was quite good for me. Annual lunch was great and then even though I didn't have the energy to get out Saturday morning I made it out Sunday. With Helen and Paul M leading rides from the square I opted for the shorter ride and went with ...

Wednesday Evening Ride

I hope to be out for this. Am I correct in thinking it is the hard ride starting from outside the Rowntrees Clock entrance this week?

Helmets

While I generally agree with the idea of wearing helmets, when I came off last year the helmet stopped me from being scraped but as to how much of the actual impact energy is being absorbed I am not sure. I also have a few gripes:

Why is my new helmet tested to a lower standard (EN) than my orginal ...
