Having set off muttering about needing to get back I found myself enjoying the ride and the company so much I ignored Karls sensible suggestion that I should turn back with Dave and instead continued to the cafe stop, still convincing myself I'd be back on time.

I wasnt. See around bonfire night ...

200k and some hills... Given all the 300k heroics I'm shamed into giving it a go.

See you there Mal.

Was determined to have a slower ride this week but Kevin's look of scorn had me into scampering off at the back of the intermediate group of about 9 to Masham. Good run marred by heavy rain early on that caused rooster tails full of mud that got in the eyes and between the teeth.

An interesting ...

Having not been out with the "Intermediate" group for a while (other than meeting some on the Wiggington 100 audax race last weekend) I found that either I've got a lot worse in taking time out or you boys have got a lot faster. Perhaps both.

Anyway thanks to all of you for towing/encouraging ...

Yes thanks Jon a great ride. It was good (and surprising in nearly 10,000) to meet up with you on the Marie Blanque and to tap out a few km together.

I booked entry only this year (cheapskate) and this put me well back at the start, the consequence of this is that as the road narrows on Marie ...

I think you can enter on the day. I think I did this last year and they didnt seem to mind too much.

I should be up for this too and might have a bash at the 200k.

I'd be up for either too. Was round Castyle Howard at the weekend and as Andrew says it was very boggy. But happy to do either.

Hi Jon,

Yes I'm going to give it a go. What start number did you get? I'm something like 6726... so probably broomwagoned before I cross the start line...

My plan is to get round without melting or fainting on the climb.

Hope to see you there.

Well in a desperate attempt to get ride fit for the Dave Lloyd I rode the Etape du Dales route yesterday. All very nice until about 3pm when the heavens opened and we got 3" of water running down the roads (and pretty much everywhere else too).

The salient point being that there was a team of ...

I've got the standard BB tool for campag. The splined one that fits over the square end of the bottom bracket to tighted the cup into the frame.

Its not the one for the bottom bracket with about 6 semi-circles round the edge of the bottom bracket.

I'm in Knapton so pretty close. 07770 781534 if ...

Hi Anna,

Sorry to hear you broke your collar bone and that it kills you chances of competing in a half ironman. Right up to that point you seemed to be going really well... I really thought I was in danger of having to complete the 200k with you and Gill.

Just so you know you didnt mess up the ...
