I'd just like to add my thanks to Dave and everyone else involved in running the Scotton. It was easily one of the most punishing but enjoyable days out on the bike I've had in a long time.

Have you considered a set of handbuilt wheels? Strong, serviceable and can be custom made to any budget.

If you bought the mudguards from Cycleheaven, then take them and your bike to the shop, and the workshop will do their best to fit them for you.

This took me 10 minutes to produce at work from start to finish.

Simply cut damp-proof course liner to desired shape and rivet on, for the price of a coffee I'll do one for anyone who is planning to be on the training rides after the new year.

Weekend roundup 16/17th

My second cyclocross race on Sunday. I achieved both goals of actually finishing the race and not coming last, can't describe how unlike anything I've done before 'cross is. You kill yourself for an hour, most of the time in a battle with the rider directly in front or behind, then after the race ...

It was my first cyclocross race on Sunday at a very wet and even muddier Temple Newsam in Leeds. By the time the Senior race came around the course was very cut up and a very heavy shower as we were warming up meant I was soaked before the whistle sounded.
With the race going, I settled into a small ...

My thanks to Phil and everyone involved in making yesterday a success. I was bitterly disappointed to only make it round two laps before a mechanical forced me out, although I was glad not to be on the bike when the rain came down.
Probably my last race of the season, time for some social rides with ...

Steve and Mike I don't think either of you have anything to be disappointed about. It doesn't have to be all about points and the 'fiver in an envelope', it can be about fun and fitness gained, both of you were regulars on the training rides and raced which is more than most managed. And Steve you ...
