New Velodrome in the North East

Thanks I have completed the survey and will take the link to the gym with me tonight. Perhaps others could do the same. I also made the comment in the survey that a track in the Leeds / York area (especially with York’s cycling status) would attract a lot of attention. The track wherever it is built ...

Thanks to you both for the information and I remember now about the blue and pink slips. As you say safety first as even with my limited time on the track I saw people not looking before changing position.
I will go to some more taster sessions and hopefully get the required slips.

I see you are going to the improver session on Friday. I will be in the area and thinking perhaps I would join you if the session is not full. I have only done 2 taster sessions which were a while apart (perhaps 6 months) and the last time I went was about April. How many taster sessions did you ...

Mancester Velodrome

What Will says is correct and the best way is through taster sessions which are for an hour and really good value. Then by progression through training (e.g. track skills) you can get accredited and then start racing and attend the more advanced sessions.

Enigma Bikes: steel or titanium frames

Thinking of looking at a steel or titanium bike at Enigma Bikes and wondered if anyone has got a bike from them or views on modern all (including forks) steel bikes. http://www.enigmabikes.com/
Steel seems to be making a comeback.
Thanks

"Free" Danube ride last week in June

I was wondering if anyone else had seen and registered for the “free” Danube ride sponsored by the EU (see link below) as mentioned in the CTC newsletter from 13th March. It looks fun.
I have registered for the easy Route 1 although I also stated that I would not mind Route 2 but just wanted to get ...

How about David Hinde bikes. I am thinking of calling in as I do some work over that side of the pennies. They do a couple of nice looking road bikes at about £700 with what looks a good spec and is light. One L’Etap Sport bike is £599.95 and complete bike weighs 18lbs (8.18kg). Anyone had any ...

Hi willy
Seeing post by trevorj, does that mean there is a space or is it still oversubscribed? I do most of my (old) bike maintenance but nothing on new systems or very complicated things. I would be very keen to be able to attend these sessions or if there are any in the future.
Cheers

In the hope that you have time to check the discussion board before you set off, unfortunately I am also not able to make this morning.
Hope you have a good ride and the sun comes out.
Happy new year
