Croft TLI 2nd June

Did my second road race at Croft last night. Travelled with Jason again and this week met Rich out there, giving us 3 clifton riders. By the time we signed up, no one was down for the easiest group so we all signed up to the next one up. Ended up being easier at the start with a larger group, Jason ...

As my first road race, I was a bit disappointed I couldn't spend more time in a group. I latched on as one passed by but then moved to the back of the bunch at the hairpin turn so as to not cause any problems...promptly being thrown out the back as we hit the headwind!

People were strewn out around ...

I've just got back from my easter hols to uni and am interested in doing some of these road races. Obviously I've missed the boat for the chevin series, but Jason, I am up for joining you in trying out another. The only problem for me is that I have no transport and these seem too far to ride out to ...

Bike fit is obviously a topic that we could spend hours discussing. Having worked in 2 bike shops over the past few months, I have definitely seen a fair few people who have bikes 2 sizes too big for them. Unfortunately, without a 'professional' fit system in either shop, my colleagues and I measure ...

sorry I can't help you out with a bike, but just as a pointer, I am 5'8" and ride a 54cm frame, so 50/52 may be on the small side unless they have long legs/short body

There are some freehub bodies which accept 9/10 speed and some newer ones which only accept 10 speed. However, very few wheels come with the 10 speed only (including one pair of shimano wheels from last year I think) but otherwise you should have no problems with it!

Will see if I can get a few posters up in uni this week, if 1% of the people with bikes turn up then it will be a great turnout
