+1 for build your own. For my winter bike I built a pair using DuraAce 7900 hubs, dt 2/1.8/2 double butted spokes laced 3x into 32h mavic open pro rims using 12mm dt brass nipples. My thinking here was to use v high quality parts with the exception of the rims cos they're sort of sacrificial. So far ...

The cat's out of the bag now!
A letter in today's Times led me to this:

Sheesh, this chap should stick to gassing people IMHO!
Grim reading indeed for all us self confessed carbon tarts!
I obviously think that his conclusions must be somehow fundamentally flawed but actually I ...

h group route Sat. 20/11
I really enjoyed the ns training ride last week so I'm thinking that maybe the h group could do it every other week. Anyone got any thoughts on this?
For this coming Saturday, Cockayne ACW with cafe stop at Helmsley at just over 50 miles, total ride length ca. 80 miles. All welcome.

grp h route Sat. 13/11
Just for a change, I fancy doing the non stop training ride this coming Saturday; so no h route posted below.
If anyone would prefer the "traditional" h ride of c. 90 miles with cafe stop then please feel free to post a route map/route description below.
See you Sat.
