Re: 27th. of May Sheriff/Whenby/Brandsby T.T. Results

I managed to get a few shots of most people last night - posted them on the Clifton FB page and on my FB page. Happy to email high res versions if anyone wants them. Simon

Re: Farlington Bridge Closure - Impact on Brandsby/Whenby SP

I went past this morning. The notice says " Advance Notice. Road Closed 27/05/2014 for 8 weeks for Bridge Works. Contact 08458727374" I am travelling today but could follow up tomorrow if you want - or might be better for organiser to contact? Just let me know if you would like me to phone them.

Farlington Bridge Closure - Impact on Brandsby/Whenby SPOCO

I went over the Bridge at Farlington yesterday - there is a sign up saying it will be closed on 27/5 for around 7 weeks. If this is the case suspect it might impact the Brandsby/Whenby SPOCO. Happy to take another look to check exact dates etc...

Thanks to everyone who helped put this together - very well organised and not to be under-estimated. Sorry I wasn't able to hang around and help after the 3/4 event - I came down heavily on the Goodramgate left hander and cracked my elbow. How did the rest of the Clifton group get on? would love to ...

I have entered the 3/4th race (not sure how wise that was) but happy to help out later on after this has finished. Simon

Went to ride the 4th Cat / Go Race at the Stockton Cycling Festival - really well organised - just a shame about the torrential rain and very slippy surface. About 20 of us went off which soon settled down to a tighter group of around 15. Barriers, crowds and commentator gave it a good atmosphere ...

Rode the whenby TT course last night _ they are resurfacing road between brandsby and stillington - no marking and about an inch of loose gravel - might settle down by next week by slippy on the corners and heavy at the moment.

Happy to help out next week - I live just off the course on the road from Whenby about 1/2 mile before the Brandsby turn - so easy for me to make it. Don't know whether you are aware - but they are doing some work on the Bransdby water supply - and the road for the last mile before Brandsby ...

Good effort from all the Clifton group tonight - everyone seemed to be in the mix and riding safely. Probably the most scary event so far - a couple of riders in the bunch who seemed completely unaware of the consequences of changing line quickly. Reuben and I had a go at the second prime - he was ...

Great nights racing on Tuesday - and good to be part of a strong group. I felt really good and decided to have a do or die attempt at catching the lone leader some 300m off the front for the second prime - just pipping him to the line - only to realise he wasn't actually the leader (another three ...

Great nights racing last night. Felt much safer than last week - even had time to have a chat with Reuben midway round. Similar scenario to previous weeks - fairly predictable accelerations along the home straight - pace going up and down every few laps and then a mad gallop with 2 to go. Felt ...

I know someone I race with at the velodrome who is connected with the CDNW league - could put you in touch if that would be helpful. Plans for the additional league sounds great. Simon

Great fun last night. Felt a little apprehensive as I haven't done much over the last couple of weeks - but was surprised by being able to keep up with the pace without blowing. Even managed to have a little, if rather futile attempt at a breakaway with Tim for 1/2 a lap. The group was tightly ...
